Beats

My latest beat album can be found here:

Beat Mix 1 | Ukichi THE IMPOSTOR | CXJ / Ukichi THE IMPOSTOR (bandcamp.com)

19 minutes of my beats layered with rhymes from lyrical geniuses.

The Path Forward | Ukichi CXJ | CXJ / Ukichi THE IMPOSTOR (bandcamp.com)

released November 30, 2023

There is a path for everyone. That path is filled with many obstacles, forks in the road, and decisions to be made. Growth keeps us on the path. If we are curious and hungry (like a wolf), we will continue to keep our feet moving and our vision focused. You will be tired and confused. You will question why you are here, and you will want to give up. That is the path, too.

The Path Forward is about those periods when you are not sure about what you are doing, why you are doing it, but you know that this too is part of the journey. You know that to get to where you want to be you will need to uncomfortable and unsatisfied. Keep moving…that is the premise of The Path Forward.

Thank you to all the artists who left their sounds on dusty LPs. This album was produced using a combination DAW and MPCONE, with textures and fun added by the SP404a.

SIGNALS (and cracked codes) | Cygnus.3J | Cygnus.J / Ukichi THE IMPOSTOR (bandcamp.com)

A growth album. I had a lot of ideas, but wanted to keep it simple, too. SIGNALS is about taking that next step because in movement there is progress. Many of the beats here were created on the MPCONE with help from the SP404a. A humble bow and thank you to all the talented artists who left their amazing sounds on dusty old records. #samplingisart #loopdigga

Lima, Peru. The year is 2103.

It wasn’t much before The Fall. The Event Horizon was being prepared. Cities had become the last refuge for anyone trying to survive. A place to maybe find clean water or power. The countryside had been laid to waste. Massive contamination, oppressive solar radiation, disease, and war meant you couldn’t live in isolation. Outside infrastructure had collapsed, so you were dependent on the cities. It didn’t mean your life was better in the cities, though. They were rotten places unless you could afford to live in The Dome. Life outside The Dome was barely better than death, but you had a chance. A small chance.

People lived in toxic filth, jammed together on the fringes, living on top of one another, their respirators (if they were lucky enough to have one) were barely able to keep them breathing decent air. The little unused clean water from The Dome was controlled by bandits, stolen, and sold at exorbitant prices. People ate whatever they could hold down their stomachs. Rats and pigeons were sold in the crowded markets. Crime was a way of life. Law and order, forget about it.

The chips had changed everything, but that is for another story.

The year is 2103.

Our world is dying from the effects of extreme weather, massive pollution, plagues, and the total collapse of its ecosystems. In a desperate attempt to save our legacy, we launch a satellite filled with the sounds of jazz, funk, soul, and hip-hop, in order that a more intelligent lifeform will be able to preserve it and create its own music. It is our hope that hip-hop will continue to be heard in the universe forever.
